Finance
Strings for money: investing, borrowing, accounting and currency, including the three crypto strings their applicant files as finance rather than as Web3.

The 9 strings
- 4 in no contention set
- 5 in a contention set, with the number of primary applications shown
A contention set is ICANN's, taken from its Reveal Day file. ICANN publishes an updated list on String Confirmation Day.
Six of these are Radix’s own Finance category, published by the company as part
of its 46-application portfolio: .coin, .crypto, .fintech, .invest,
.wallet and .wealth. Three of them, .coin, .crypto and .wallet, are
also recorded under crypto and Web3. A string can
sit in two groups here, and this is the case the feature was built for: the words
are financial and they are also Web3, and picking one reading would mean
discarding a company’s description of its own application.
Three more joined when ICANN published its list. The .accounting application defines the string as
recording and reporting financial information, and .euro was applied for by
the European Central Bank as the name of the common currency. .borrow is named
only as a replacement string, so no application defines it.
An applicant’s own reading decides the rest. .lend is not a member, because
its application defines lending as letting someone use a tool, a book or a
space. .stock has two applicants and two meanings, ownership interests and
inventory. .asset is defined as anything that has value.
The banks and insurers in ICANN’s list applied for their own names, and a
string that is a company’s own name is left out of every group on this tracker.
That is why .arabbank, .bankofamerica and .swedbank are in excluded: they
contain “bank”, and they are names.
.advisory, .firm, .portfolio and .profile are not members. Radix groups
them under Business and Creator, not Finance, and its grouping decides its own
strings.
.find, .finder, .infinite and .roofing contain “fin” and are not finance
strings. .fundraise contains “fund” and is a word from charity. All five are in
excluded, which is the record that somebody checked.

A string can belong to more than one group, and these do.
