Pepper Launches Atlas to Help Enterprises Track and Improve Visibility in Generative AI Search
When users search via generative AI engines like ChatGPT, Google’s AI Overviews, or Gemini, they often receive direct answers highlighting only a select few brands, frequently without any links to click. This shift has created a critical blind spot for digital marketers. A brand's traditional search engine rankings and web traffic may remain stable even as its presence inside AI-generated answers quietly erodes, leaving marketing teams with no traditional dashboard data to explain the loss in their pipeline.
To address this gap, content-led growth engine Pepper has launched its Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) platform, Atlas. Designed to help enterprises monitor and defend their standing within AI-driven search results, the platform was developed and refined over the past year through Pepper's internal workflows with enterprise clients. GEO represents the emerging practice of earning a brand's place inside AI answers. To date, the Atlas platform has tracked more than 10 million prompts across every major AI engine.
Inside the Atlas Platform
Rather than offering a static view of AI results, Atlas runs the actual search prompts used by a brand’s target buyers. The platform continuously refreshes these queries across ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Overviews, benchmarking the data directly against competitors.
Within the platform, marketing teams can monitor several core metrics:
- Brand Visibility: Tracks the percentage of AI-generated answers that specifically name the brand.
- Domain Coverage: Measures the share of buyer queries where the brand's own web pages surface as sources.
- Citations: Identifies which external sources—such as competitor sites or third-party review platforms—the AI models trust and cite when describing the brand.
Beyond these diagnostics, Atlas groups analyzed search queries into "Themes and Prompts." This feature categorizes buyer questions by target persona and funnel stage, allowing teams to isolate where they are winning or losing specific digital conversations. An "Optimization" feature then translates these uncovered gaps into a prioritized project task list, turning theoretical insights into concrete action. Users can also drill down from any high-level metric to view the specific, underlying AI response.
The Core Grading Signals
To determine a brand's overall performance within generative search, Atlas grades three fundamental signals:
- Visibility: Whether the AI engine names the brand at all in its output.
- Citability: Whether the AI models trust the brand's owned pages enough to reference them directly.
- Retrievability: Whether the brand surfaces consistently across various phrasing variations and platforms, rather than appearing on a single lucky query.
Because Atlas originated as an internal tool used by Pepper’s team to execute campaigns for clients, it integrates diagnostic tracking with actual execution. This allows growth teams to collaborate directly with a brand’s internal team to implement the resulting optimization plans.
Enterprise Adoption Across Two Major Markets
The push toward GEO is led primarily by large enterprises, who face the highest risk of being omitted from AI search answers. According to Anirudh Singla, Founder and CEO of Pepper, Atlas was built specifically to address this enterprise vulnerability.
"The brands feeling this shift first are large enterprises, the ones with the most to lose when an AI answer leaves them out," Singla stated. "We built Atlas running GEO for some of the biggest companies in the US and India, and that is exactly who it is built for. It does not just show you how AI sees your brand. It tells you what to do about it. Everyone else built a mirror. We built an engine."
The platform's adoption is concentrated heavily in the United States and India, two regions seeing rapid enterprise shifts toward AI search.
In the United States, companies such as Central Garden & Pet, LendingClub, and Zo Beauty have utilized Pepper’s capabilities to protect and scale their positions in AI outputs. Meanwhile, in India and the surrounding region, adoption spans major consumer, financial, and public-scale organizations, including Coca-Cola, Unilever, ITC, NPCI, PhonePe, and Emirates NBD.
Pepper, which is trusted by more than 250 enterprise clients, designed the Atlas platform to turn GEO from a specialized internal methodology into a direct software solution that marketing teams can run independently.
