Agentic AI Enters Production Scale: Automation Leaders Deploy Autonomous Software and Robotics

The Shift from Pilot to Production

Agentic artificial intelligence has officially crossed the threshold from experimental pilot projects to large-scale, enterprise-ready production. Recent developments from industry leaders Automation Anywhere, Yaskawa Electric, and KUKA indicate a major shift toward a new operating model for industrial and enterprise AI. These companies are demonstrating that AI agents are no longer just research concepts but are active production assets capable of handling complex tasks, driving business growth, and operating autonomously on both digital and physical fronts.

Automation Anywhere's Milestone

At its Imagine 2026 conference in Dallas, Automation Anywhere showcased the scale of this transition. The company revealed that its Autonomous Service Desk has now successfully fulfilled over one billion IT service requests, achieving an average auto-resolution rate of more than 80%. This massive volume underscores the technology's role as an operational backbone.

This technological adoption is reflected in Automation Anywhere's financial performance. For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, the firm reported double-digit growth in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), revenue, and Current Remaining Performance Obligations. Furthermore, the number of enterprise clients generating over $1 million in ARR grew by 25% year-over-year, and the ARR within this specific group increased by 27%. This indicates that existing enterprise clients are expanding their use of AI agents into broader operational areas.

Real-World Enterprise Deployments

Two specific deployments highlight the practical value of these autonomous systems. A large consulting firm leveraged the Autonomous Service Desk platform to secure an auto-resolution rate above 80% and boost productivity by over 70%. This deployment enabled the firm to project nearly $2 million in savings without expanding its service desk headcount.

In another deployment, Oasis Investment—a division of the Al Shirawi Group—implemented Automation Anywhere’s Autonomous Finance solution. The platform centralized workflows across 52 different companies, upgrading governance and audit capabilities to handle growing transaction volumes.

Shifting Economics and Pricing Models

The rise of agentic AI is also transforming the managed service provider (MSP) landscape. Research from DeskDay indicates that 87% of MSPs plan to increase their AI investments, forecasting that service desk automation will slash ticket volumes by 40% to 60%.

This shift is prompting IT procurement teams to demand outcome-based pricing rather than traditional seat-based licensing. Vendors are already adapting to this demand; Automation Anywhere reported executing the single largest outcome-based transaction in its history during the first quarter of fiscal 2027.

Agentic Logic on the Factory Floor

While software enterprises scale digital workflows, robotics manufacturers are introducing identical agentic reasoning to physical environments. Yaskawa Electric has built a robot integrated with Google DeepMind’s Gemini. Unlike standard industrial robots that require programmers to re-code responses for every variation, this system evaluates real-time on-site conditions, formulates its own work procedures, and executes them independently.

Concurrently, KUKA has released a new operating system designed to unify cobot (collaborative robot) fleets across diverse production lines. Together, these developments signal a convergence where autonomous decision-making and physical execution meet, offering operations leaders powerful new tools to manage, scale, and govern.
